Featured Track: "The
Ballad of Suzie Wong" This recently written song was selected
to give the new recording gear a test drive... self-recorded at the rehearsal
room with a "first take" mentality, the band feels the result
captured a vibe worth sharing until the formal release. Check out Sounds
for many more mp3s.
• Valentine's Day Massacre "bootlegs" There
are some bootlegs circulating from the "Valentine's Massacre"
- an all-covers event that featured songs about cheatin' hearts and love
gone wrong. Here are a few of the bootlegs: Tainted
Love by Soft Cell,
Razzmatazz by Pulp, and Big
Mouth Strikes Again by The Smiths. Metroscene also performed
Joy Division's "Love Will Tear Us Apart", "Boys Don't Cry"
by The Cure, and "Please, Please, Please Let Me Get What I Want"
by The Smiths. Thanks to Beth Kargel for organizing the event and inviting
Metroscene to participate!
